Hinulugang taktak is a waterfalls in the Philippines found in the province of Rizal on Luzon Island. The waterfall area has been designated as a National Park by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), it is one of the two most popular tourist spots in antipolo, the other most popular tourist spots in Rizal's capital is the Antipolo Cathedral. 1990, the waterfall was proclaimed as a National Historical Shrine under Republic Act No. 6964. The waterfall is polluted and not suitable for swimming but many Local Government Unit (LGU's) are acting to save it's natural beauty by efforts to preserve it's upper part for the park's use and not for abusive trash use. Hinulugang taktak is found in Brgy. Dela Paz, Antipolo City, This falls was made famous by the song "Tayo na sa Antipolo" by German San Jose. During the 16th century the nearby residence complained for boisterous sound produced by the bell during Angelus. The people demanded the local priest to remove the bell. And so the priest had to take it to the nearby river. This explains the name "Hinulugang Taktak" which means "Where the bell was dropped". Antipolo is known for being a religious place and Hinulugang taktak also became a tourist spot and remarkable target for it's beautiful ambiance and environment. The falls was not maintained properly. The government are not aware of this, they don't give attention to the falls. The government said that restoration will be done but until now, nothing changes. But people are still hoping everything will be back to normal and make it clean and also bring the tourist back.
