Learned From Arun Gogna

Celebrating the STI 22nd National Youth Convention was memorable not only for the STI’ers but also for the Institution, the fact that they achieved their aim for their students. STI believed that through this event, they help and share more knowledge for the students out of classroom. To complete this convention, every year they invited different guest speakers which symbolize

what STI National Youth Convention is for.

One of the speakers was Mr. Arun Gogna, a motivational speaker, graduated from De La Salle University with B.S Electronics and Communications Engineering. He is also a Christian Artist and has so far recorded two albums. He is very funny and inspiring speaker who discussed relevant lessons with the theme of “Soaring High with 21st Century Skill”. Through his fun, lively and engaging discussion, the senior high school and college students enlighten with the importance of being a 21st century learner.

Mr. Arun Gogna shared discussion was all about starter pack. He discussed the 5c for taking up a particular activity or task for the first time, that’s why the title of his presentation was “It’s starts with ME”

The following are the 5C:

1. Clarify

The universe responds to clarity. According to Mr. Gogna, with success comes greater uncertainty.

2. Competence

Find your strength. Focus on it. He told that take advantage in a good way by using our ability.

3. Courage

Doing it afraid is the essence of Courage. “If you don’t conquer your fear, you are going to miss out on some great things in life”, Mr. Gogna said.

4. Coaching

Look for mentors and learn from them. He discussed the two kinds of mentors which is the Personal Mentors which is our family, friends, and peers are belong while Virtual Mentors are the persons who are successful and professional.

5. Character

Integrity is when your “public self” is consistent with your private self. According to him, who you are in others , that’s also who you are in yourself.

Mr. Arun Gogna ends his speech with a quote, “SUCCESS STARTS WITH YOU, BUT IT SHOULD NEVER BE ABOUT YOU” which shows and express that learned first with ourselves is needed to reach our dream. Listening to his motivational speech is such an inspiration to all STI’ers including me.
