Kapeng Barako

Kapeng Barako is a kind of coffee that is famous in Batangas, the word Kape means coffee in english and barako means manliness in english. Coffee is grown in the Philippines particularly in Batangas and Cavite. Kapeng barako is common name for all coffee because of it's rare and exotic foods. It is mostly prepared dip brewed or the use of a coffee maker machine, In Batangas it is served with brown sugar, some prefer sweetening it with honey. In Batangas it is usually served black, however cream can be added for individual taste. Kapeng barako is very famous because of it's rich and tasty flavor. Kapeng barako is proud product of the Batangueños. Kapeng Barako is a kind of liberica coffee which was first introduced in the Spanish colonial times. It became a major source of income for the people of Batangas, with Lipa even becoming the sole provider of coffee beans in the world.
